Pontoon, Boat, & Canoe Rental is available from nearby Timber Bay Lodge & Houseboats. Call Timber Bay at 1-800-846-6821 in advance to make arrangements. Birch Lake RV Park does not have dock space; however, boats can be tied up at the public swimming beach located next to the campground. The public boat landing is 1/2 mile from the campground for your convenience.
The Weather is often unpredictable, so warm clothing & rain gear is recommended in case of cool nights or rainy days. For specific forecasts check on Weather Underground before starting your trip. Also bring your swimsuits & beach towels for those sunny days to spend by the lake. Other items to consider -- camera, radio, flashlight, fishing gear, insect repellant, & a good book.
Pets are allowed but must be on a 6 ft. leash, quiet, and not left unattended at any time; please clean up after them.
ATV's/motorbikes, scooters, carts, etc. are permitted in the campground, but must stay on the road & idle slowly. They cannot be driven around the campground; only from the campsite to the trail. All drivers must have the required license to operate them.
Cell Phones work in certain locations in the Babbitt & Ely area, but you should check your roaming requirements.
The campground does not have a Dump Station; however, all of our campsites have full hookups including sewer for your convenience.
Attractions in the area include the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness, (BWCAW), the International Wolf Center, the Dorothy Molter Museum, the Tower/Soudan Underground Mine, the American Bear Center, and many specialty shops to visit.
